The Bowl Championship Series (BCS)

Does the BCS think we are all idiots? With the chance to pair up some very interesting college football bowl games in the BCS they failed. The BCS failed miserably at giving us compelling NCAA football matchups for the Bowl season. There will be some good games and I have no problem with Alabama Crimson Tide vs Texas Longhorns in the "championship game". My problem and apparently a lot of college football fans problems is the remaining pairings. This year we have two very good teams from non-qualifying conferences getting into the BCS. What does the wimps at the BCS decide to do? They pair the two teams giving us Boise St vs Texas Tech. This will be a good game but is vastly unfair to the participants. Both these teams deseved a shot at a team from a major conference. Why? To prove themselves against "stronger" competition. The BCS took the easy way out. They in know way wanted either of these deserving teams to crash the party and prove that the automatic conference bids are a sham. What happens if TCU gets a crack at the ACC champs Georgia Tech? What happens if Boise St. gets a shot at the Big East champs Cincinnati (besides a ton of points)? What happens if either team gets a shot at Tim Tebow led Florida? They might win that's what.

Why would this be a bad thing for the BCS and college football? Because it would show how much crap the current system is. No way they alow these party crashers a chance to embarass a champ from an automatic conference qualifier. That would throw a wrench into the tenuous BCS picture and further the call for a playoff which the winner would possibly be The Horned Frogs of TCU. A copout from the BCS. This BCS crap needs to go now!
